Wintry showers and winds gusting at more than 50 mph

The Anglia region has been hit by strong winds and blustery wintry showers as a brief Arctic blast affects the UK.

Winds gusted to 56 mph at 10am on Saturday at Weybourne in Norfolk.

A dusting of wet snow was reported at Hitchin in Hertfordshire along with 4 mm of rain.

A tree was blown down at Roxton in Bedfordshire close to the A1 Black Cat roundabout.

Steve Ramsay stopped to clear debris with the help of another passer-by and they placed a high-vis jacket on the stump to warn other road users.

In Norfolk, the A1076 Gayton Road in King's Lynn is closed both ways due to fallen tree between Winston Churchill Drive East and Winston Churchill Drive West.

The road is closed after the tree came down just after 10am on Saturday near the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
