New investment could be on the way to improve one of East Anglia's major roads.

There are plans to improve the stretch of the A12 between Colchester and Ipswich which could mean widening the road to three lanes.

It's already been announced the section between Marks Tey and Chelmsford will be widened effectively turning the A12 into a motorway.

80,000 vehicles use the A12 through Essex and Suffolk every day so it is no surprise the main road connecting villages, towns and cities across our region is regularly congested.
