Priti Patel warns against complacency after local election success

The International Development Secretary Priti Patal has warned of the dangers of complacency ahead of the General Election after the Conservatives made gains on Essex County Council.

Priti Patel, who was been MP for Witham since 2010, told ITV News Anglia that the Tories take nothing for granted.

During the General Election campaign we will make our pitch for a secure and strong Britain as we leave the European Union and importantly to give Theresa May that mandate to get the best deal for Britain.
