Footballer banned over offensive dead baby tweets is signed by new club

Alfie Barker has been signed by Baldock Town

Non-league Baldock Town have been talking about their decision to sign Alfie Barker the controversial player who was sacked by his previous club and banned by the FA after sending abusive tweets to Premier League star Harry Arter.

The tweets mocked the Bournemouth player about the death of his daughter. Barker later apologised but was sacked by Hitchin who he was playing for at the time. In statement Baldock say it's time to give Barker a second chance

Although we do not in any way condone his previous actions, we do know that it has come to light he has mild learning disabilities and autism. In this respect, we think that under the guidance of our club we can help him become a better person.
