Thousands pound streets of Cambridge to run a half marathon

With the big thaw well and truly underway - more than 7,000 people got back out on the streets to run the Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon.

The snow and ice melted just in time for the race, which is now in its 7th year.

Anyone who couldn't make it this year because of the weather - is being offered a guaranteed place next year.

"This has probably been the hardest set up that I've had in 15-20 years of putting events on. We have had a really brutal set up, obviously, the weather conditions have been horrendous, however, we're here, we're going to have lots of runners taking part today. Really pleased with all my suppliers, all of the crew, we're going to have four or five hundred volunteers out there helping, so, everyone's going to have a great day."
