A 25-year old man has been jailed for eight years for assaulting two men in two 'one punch attacks' at a taxi rank in Cambridge in September 2017.

Pouria Sadjadi from Cambridge knocked a 50-year old man from Soham unconscious at a taxi rank in St Andrew's Street in the early hours of the the 16th September, with a single punch. The victim's friend came to help him and was also punched and knocked out.

The 50 year old man suffered serious head injuries and is still recovering, while his friend, a 41 year old man was also treated for serious head injuries.

Sadjadi pleaded guilty to actual bodily harm on the 41-year old and was found guilty of grievous bodily harm with intent on the 50-year old man.

“This case highlights the catastrophic consequences one punch can have on a person’s life, with one of Sadjadi’s victim’s still living with the effects of his injury. This sentence reflects how seriously violence is taken by the courts.”
