Northampton Town owners say they have to sell club because of a dispute with local council

Football - The owners of Northampton Town say they're reluctantly seeking to sell the club because of a dispute with the borough council.

It's over the lease of the partially built East Stand and adjacent land at Sixfields Stadium.

Cobblers chairman Kelvin Thomas says they've tried over several months to sort the situation out with the council with little success, and that they have little choice but to step aside.
