A body found in woodland in Essex is that of missing Chris May, who disappeared more than three years ago.

Police say Mr May, who was from Kelvedon, has now been formally identified.

The 28-year-old went missing in May 2015 and his VW Golf was found abandoned at Troys Chase in the Fairstead area.

Officers launched a murder inquiry three weeks later after receiving an anonymous letter telling them Mr May was dead.

On May 14 this year, a member of the public found his body in woodland in Faulkbourne.

An inquest will be held in October and police say they are continuing to work on establishing his final movements ahead of that.
