Two charged over stabbing outside Bedford school

Two men have been charged following a stabbing outside a Bedfordshire school.

Mohammed Rahman, 24, of Cobden Square, Bedford, and Haseeb Akhtar, 21, of Sturmer Road, Bedford, are each accused of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

An 18-year-old man was stabbed in the leg at Kennet Rise in Bedford on Monday - close to the entrance of St Thomas More Secondary School.

He was treated in hospital but has since been discharged.

Police are carrying out extra patrols in the Brickhill area of the town.
