Santa Paws came to town for these lucky police dogs

Forget Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and their jolly, present-laden leader.

In Luton this week, it was all about Peper, Poppy, Hunter, Quirky, Chip, Milo - and the elusive Santa Paws.

The area's airport decided to throw its hard-working police dogs a Christmas party - and they seemed to enjoy it.

This video, released by the human event organisers, shows the group of spaniels and Labradors taking a break from sniffing out contraband and harmful substances to seek out some festive treats instead.

"Everyone at London Luton Airport loves the police dogs. Not only do they play a vital role in keeping the airport safe, they're always a talking point with out passengers, so we though it would be fun to reward them with a Christmas party."

– Clare Armstrong, Luton Airport's head of passenger services

There was a thumping festive soundtrack including Bark the Herald Angels Sing, Furry-tail of New York and Deck the Halls with Border Collies.

And, like all good Christmas dos, it soon descended into chaos.

Thank goodness officers from Bedfordshire Police's dog unit were close by and ready to step in.
