Sculpture unveiled of Northampton Town great

A sculpture has been unveiled of the manager acclaimed as Northampton Town's greatest ever.

It was unveiled at Sixfields Stadium on Sunday.

Dave Bowen took the Cobblers from Division Four to the top flight of English football in the 1960s.

Bowen, who died in 1995, played 146 times for Arsenal as well as for Northampton. He was a Welsh international, captaining Wales at their only World Cup finals appearance in 1958.

It's a big thing for us to be able to now tell the next generation, tell the young supporters that come to the ground and come on stadium tours.

They can read the plaque, they can learn a bit about him and that's really important for us.
