The Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations have started early in west Cumbria. The Beacon museum in Whitehaven has secured the "Crown Jewels" for a two week display.
Four replica crowns, a sceptre and an orb are on display. The exhibition sheds light on royal events and the stories behind them.
"They are loan to us from Royal Exhibitions and every gem is in the right place, the weights of the crowns are exact, they're from a pattern book so everything is exactly where it should be, so they are as accurate to the originals as possible. "We are a long way from London and it is quite important to be able to see people's heritage closer to home so it is essential that people have the chance to be able to do that. "That is why we were so thrilled to be able to do bring these on loan to Whitehaven so that people in Copeland and in Cumbria and anywhere in the North West who want to come and see it have the chance to see it."
The replica crown Jewels will be on display for two weeks.
