A decision on whether to allow an underground nuclear waste store to be built in west Cumbria has been posponed for three months.

Cumbria County Council, along with Copeland and Allerdale District Councils had been due to decide today.

They now say they need more time to address key concerns in the report about the dumping of high level waste and a final decision will be made in January. Outside the meeting protestors chanted that they didn't want 'a nuclear dump' in Cumbria.
