Matt Wells, the Olympic rower, visited children in Carlisle today.

He spoke at an assembly to year seven pupils at Trinity School.

The four times Olympian showed off his medals - including his bronze from the Bejing Games. Then he joined the children to try out some new sports.

Dean Lythgoe is an assistant headteacher at Trinity School. explained how well the visit had been received by the students

Jo Hawkin is one of Matt's former teachers she has kept in touch with him and it was her idea to get him to visit the school as part of their year 7 learning programme.
