Warning after two children hit by cars in the Borders

Police in the Scottish Borders are urging people to take care on the roads over the summer after two children were hit by cars.

A five-year-old girl spent last night in the Borders General Hospital with an ankle injury after she was involved in a collision with a car in Priors Meadow

This morning, a seven-year-old boy was taken to the Sick Kids Hospital in Glasgow for treatment on injuries to his collarbone and pelvis following an accident in South Street Armadale.

His condition is not believed to be life threatening.

Road Policing Officers are now keen to ensure there are no similar incidents across the region in the coming weeks.

The summer holidays are almost upon us and we will hopefully see some warmer weather throughout the Lothians and Scottish Borders.
