Blood Supermoon:

Well, conditions should be mainly favourable for many of us to view Sunday night/Monday morning's Blood Supermoon. Optimum viewing time at 3.47am Monday when the moon will be illuminated faintly in red.

Cloud should be kept well away to the NW - mainly clear across the NE. Just a little mist forming, but apart from that any cloud should be thin and high level and any mist should not interrupt the view of this rare and natural spectacle too much.

Sunday night:

A dry evening with clear spells. Some higher cloud will spread from the west overnight, but clear spells are still possible across the Borders, with some mist or fog possible. Minimum Temperature 5 °C.

Monday:

Some early mist or fog, otherwise a dry day, but cloudier than Sunday. However, some warm sunny spells will develop in the afternoon, the best across eastern Borders. Brisk southerlies. Maximum Temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Some early mist or fog, otherwise mostly dry and bright with sunny spells, the best of these across Edinburgh and Lothians. Feeling warm with the winds gradually easing.
