We have secured places at kennels and catteries to look after pets of people who have moved into temporary accommodation and can’t take their animals with them. Hopefully this will prevent animals being kept in unsuitable conditions and will stop people from staying in damp homes with no power and water because they’ve got nowhere to take their pets."

– Rob Melloy, Chief Inspector RSPCA
