Friends of a woman who died after a collision on the A66 last month have set up a fundraising page to support the Great North Air Ambulance.

Helen Threlfell, 37, from Clifton, passed away after a collision near Stainton on Friday 15 April.

Now, her friends have set up a JustGiving page and have raised hundreds of pounds for the Great North Air Ambulance.

The message on the page says the aim is "to support the Threlfell family at this sad time" and to raise money "for Great North Air Ambulance Service because they fought to give Helen her best chance".

In a statement released after her death, Helen's family said they are "beyond devastated".
