A set of triplets from West Cumbria who were born three months prematurely have made it home in time for Christmas.

Poppie, Mollie and Evelyn Park were born at just 26 weeks, and weighed the equivalent of two bags of sugar between them.

It was touch and go whether the triplets would pull through, and they had to spend three months in intensive care.

The girls' mum, Rachel, said she never thought she'd get them home.

However, the babies have been going from strength to strength and are now ready to spend Christmas at home in Whitehaven.

For parents Steven and Rachel, it's something they weren't sure was possible. They say they're indebted to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Carlisle, as well as the Sick Children's Trust.

It's clear that the three girls will be very spoiled on Christmas day. For parents Steven and Rachel, they say that having the triplets at home is the best present they could ever wish for.
