Parts of the major A66 road in Cumbria will be closed overnight, so that flood resilience work can take place.
The stretch of road at Bassenthwaite is being raised by up to one and a half metres, to lessen the affect of any future flooding.
The road is one of many in Cumbria that were damaged by Storm Desmond in December 2015.
These repair works began in September, and this is the final phase of the work.
Full overnight carriageway closures will be in place between 8pm and 6am, and during the day, the work will continue with single lane running managed by temporary traffic lights and a 40mph speed limit.
The work is expected to be finished by the end of March.
