'Badger baiting' dog found abandoned in Gretna

Animal charity the Scottish SPCA is appealing for information after a dog suspected of being used for badger baiting was found abandoned in Gretna.

The Lurcher cross was discovered with serious injuries on Friday and was taken to a vet clinic in Carlisle.

“He has been named Bruce and is currently receiving veterinary care for his extensive injuries. We’re hopeful he’ll make a full recovery but we’re keen to speak to the people responsible for his condition.”
