Dog walker's death in Windermere 'unexplained'

The death of a woman who was walking her dog in Windermere is being treated as 'unexplained' by police.

The woman was walking in the area of Miller Ground, off Rayrigg Road in the town, between 12:45pm and 1:15pm on 31 May.

She became unwell later that day, and was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital, where she died on 2 June.

Police have described her as 'elderly', but have not said how old she was.

She has also been described as petite, 5'2” tall, with short, spiked blonde hair, and was wearing an orange hooded top, a plain blue / grey t-shirt, and light blue jeans.

The woman was walking a black and brown border collie cross spaniel dog.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw a woman matching this description in the Miller Ground area on 31 May.
