A first edition of the very first James Bond book, Casino Royale, has sold at auction for £22,500 in Carlisle.

The book, written by Ian Fleming in 1953, paved the way for a further 11 James Bond novels, alongside the 007 Hollywood film franchise.

The buyer was from south-east England, but the item brought in bidders from across the world including Russia, Sweden and USA.
