Three people have been arrested after Scottish Border Police led a drug-raid in Galashiels.

Police searched three addresses on Tuesday 20 June.

The two men and one woman were arrested for offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.

Through coordinated activity such as Operation Gatekeeper we will continue to target those involved in the supply of controlled drugs and make every effort to bring them to justice.

Police Scotland treat all instances of drugs supply with the highest priority.

I would like to reassure the public and local residents of the areas that we will continue with our pro-active patrols and use all police powers at our disposal to deter and detain those involved in such criminality.

– Chief Inspector Andrew McLean, Area Commander for the Scottish Borders

Drugs with a street value of £27,800 were confiscated during the operation called 'Operation Gatekeeper'.

The two men aged 69 and 30 years old, and woman aged 49 years old, were due to appear at Selkirk Sheriff court on Wednesday 21 June.

We will not tolerate the supply of controlled drugs in our communities and we will continue to work closely with the community and our partners to ensure any offences detected are reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

I can assure the public that any information relating to drug activity in their areas will be acted upon appropriately and handled in a discreet manner.

– Detective Sergeant Barry Roebuck, Galashiels CIU
