Striker Hallam Hope is returning to Brunton Park after signing a two-year deal with the Blues.

The 23-year-old already spent time with the team when he initially joined United on a one-month loan deal at the end of October 2015.

He bagged the goal which sealed the win in the FA Cup first round away victory against Plymouth during that spell and extended his stay with the club until the end of that campaign having recovered from a troublesome ankle injury.

His half-season stay netted him five goals in 25 appearances.

I’ve said this before, but Hallam is a player who has qualities and attributes we like. He's at a point now where he just wants to be out there and showing people what he can do.

“He’s a player who adds to our options and we’re all looking forward to working with him again. He knows the club, he knows how we work and he’s looking forward to the challenge."

“I’m very pleased to finally get him over the line,” he added. “We wanted to bring him in during the last January transfer window and we looked at trying to get him at this time last year as well.

“Thinking about it, I’ve probably chased Hallam more than I’ve ever chased anyone else through my whole life - ex-wife, ex-partner and current girlfriend included! He’s with us now and we’re looking forward to working with him again.”
