Carlisle's Fireshow went off with a bang, as thousands of people celebrated the event's 30th anniversary.

More than 35,000 people are thought to have attended, to watch a huge bonfire followed by 2,000 fireworks.

The event began with a musical performance explaining the history of Guy Fawkes Night, and also charting the 30 years of the Carlisle Fireshow.

The event began in 1987, and attracted a crowd of around 2,000.
