Police in the Scottish Borders have confirmed the name of the man who died on the B6359 in Hawick.
Andrew Goodfellow, aged 77, had been travelling on a mobility scooter on the road to Hassendean, near Knowetownhead Townhouse.
At around 11.05am on Thursday 9 November Andrew was found in the roadway, and the scooter overturned, by a member of the public.
The Scottish Ambulance Service were called to attend, however Andrew was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family have released the following statement through Police Scotland:
Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact the Road Policing Unit via 101, quoting incident number 1093 of 9 November.
