South Lakes MP Tim Farron has said that Transport Secretary Chris Grayling must not sign off an extension of the Lakes Line suspension.
It comes after Northern Rail announced that reinstating services would be likely to cause further delays and cancellations.
Commenting on the news that the service could be suspended for a further two weeks, local MP Tim Farron said:
Train services were suspended on the Lakes Line from Oxenholme to Windermere at the beginning of the week due to a shortage of drivers.
