Three men have been charged with modern slavery offences relating to car washes in Cumbria.
The trio are due to appear at North Cumbria Magistrates' Court on 20 November 2018, charged with conspiracy to commit offences of modern slavery, human trafficking and money laundering.
Defrim Paci, aged 39, of Windmill Close, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire
Jetmir Paci, aged 35, of Minimum Terrace, Chesterfield
Sitar Ali, aged 30, of Adelaide Street, Carlisle
The three men were charged following an investigation by the North Cumbria Crime and Safeguarding Team.
The offences date back to 2016 and 2017, and relate to a number of car washes in North Cumbria including Shiny Car Wash on Warwick Road, Carlisle, Shiny Car Wash in Penrith and Auto Clean Car Wash on King Street in Carlisle.
