It's expected that more than 2,000 fireworks will light up the sky this weekend for the 31st Firework show in Carlisle.

This year's show is expected to draw in a crowd of 35,000 people to one of the country's biggest bonfire nights.

It will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the People's Act, which granted most women the right to vote over the age of 30.

A charity collection will be held, with all donations going towards Rotary Club of Carlisle South and the Mayor's Charity Fund.

Your donations at the Carlisle Fireshow help us to research cures and treatments for conditions like heart disease, stroke, vascular dementia and their risk factors like diabetes. These, sadly, are the diseases you and your loved ones are most likely to die from - in fact 1 in 4 people in the UK die from heart and circulatory conditions. Research to cure the world's biggest killer is hugely underfunded. Together, we can take it on and beat heartbreak from heart and circulatory disease forever."
