More than 35,000 people turned out at this year's Carlisle Fireshow, according to the organisers.

Carlisle City Council dedicated their 31st Fireshow to The People's Act, which granted some women the right to vote in 1918.

Highlights of the event included a 40-foot bonfire, and over 2,000 fireworks.

The Carlisle Fireshow has become one of the biggest events of its kind in the UK, attracting a 35,000 strong crowd each year and is listed in The Times Top 10 bonfire list.
