Searches are underway around Dearham today as police continue to look for missing man James Miller.

Members of Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team have joined officers in the search for Mr Miller, who has been missing now for nearly two weeks.

Mr Miller, 45, was last seen in Maryport on Saturday November 24, and is thought to have taken a taxi journey that night.

Officers believe he may have been picked up from the Maryport, Dearham or Flimby area.

A missing-from-home inquiry is underway and officers are urging the public to come forward with any possible sightings of Mr Miller.

We would ask taxi drivers and taxi firms to think back and ask themselves if Mr Miller was a customer on Saturday November 24th, or has been in their cab since.”

– Detective Chief Inspector Craig Smith

Today about 15 members of the Mountain Rescue Team were searching, using search and rescue dogs.

Swiftwater rescue trained members of the team were also searching the rivers.
