Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary celebrates first birthday

The new Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary marks its first anniversary this week.

The £270m pound hospital at Cargenbridge on the outskirts of Dumfries includes 344 single-bed en-suites, a combined assessment unit, theatres complex, critical care unit, women’s and children’s unit and outpatients department.

The hospital has partly focused on developing its technology, and has a new electronic food ordering system and a pharmacy robot.

It was was officially opened by Princess Anne in July 2018.
