Two men have been charged after a taxi was stolen in Carlisle.
Police were called at around 5.45am yesterday to a report of a knife-point robbery of a taxi in the Wigton Road area.
The taxi was a white Skoda Octavia which was later found burnt out and abandoned in the Cummersdale area.
The two men who are both in their early 20s, were later on arrested after being found in the Dalston area.
James Thompson, 23, of Highfield Avenue, Carlisle, has been charged with robbery, arson and possession of a knife.
Lexie Elliott, 22, also of Highfield Avenue, Carlisle, has been charged with robbery and arson
Nobody was injured during the incident.
Both men are due to appear at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court this morning.
