People in Egremont are being invited to have their say on multi-million pound flood protection plans.

The Environment Agency is holding a drop-in session at the Falcon Club today.

The town has been hit by a series of floods over the past 40 years, including three in the space of five months in 2012.

The drop-in session, which will take place from 3.30pm-7pm, aims to give people an opportunity to find out more about local flood risk management, find out what plans are for the future and put across their views.

We want to work really closely with the community to help reduce the impact of flooding in the future. We have updated models and considered several flood risk management options for Egremont and now want to share the outcome of these assessments with the communities."

– Stewart Mounsey, EA Flood Risk Manager for Cumbria
