Cumbria Police has referred itself to its watchdog after a driver was hurt during a pursuit.
Police were going after a driver who had failed to stop on the A590.
The man had been driving a suspected stolen car from Levens to Broughton in Furness when he was struck by the police vehicle.
The driver, 20, from the Millom area was airlifted to hospital in Preston.
He suffered bruising and the matter was referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, in line with normal procedure.
