Cumbria Police have arrested four men after a woman was robbed of her bag outside the Barclays bank cashpoint in Penrith.

The incident happened at 6pm on Wednesday 16th January.

The victim was shaken but unhurt, though officers recovered a knife from the scene.

A 19-year-old, a 16-year-old and a 14-year-old have been arrested on suspicion of robbery.

A second 16-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery.

All the suspects are male and from the Penrith area.

Detectives are asking anyone with any information to contact police on 101.
