Santander has announced they are closing more than 100 branches across the UK including four in Cumbria.
Cockermouth, Ulverston, Windermere and Workington are set to close within the next six months.
1,270 UK workers will be affected by the announcement. Santander say they will 'seek to find' them alternative roles.
Over the last three years, there has been a 23% fall in the number of people going to branches to do their banking.
Customers are now turning to mobile apps to carry out transactions which has grown in popularity by 99% in the same period of time.
- 9 Station Street, Cockermouth, will close on 2 May 2019
- 17 New Market Street, Ulverston, will close on 30 May 2019
- 8 Crescent Road, Windermere, will close on 23 May 2019
- 60 Pow Street, Workington, branch will close on 6 June 2019
