Carlisle United have signed Blackpool striker Mark Cullen on loan until the end of the season.

United boss Steven Pressley says the 26-year-old is a proven goalscorer who he hopes will help fire the Blues to League Two promotion.

Cullen started his career at Hull City before a two-year spell at Luton Town. He moved to Blackpool in 2015.

“He’s a player used to getting promotion and being at the top end of the table, so we hope he can bring that experience here. He’s got good game experience even though he’s only 26. That’s important, and he’s at a very good age.

“He turned down the opportunity to go to a League One club to come here, and he’s very hungry to do well," he commented. "That tells you he was very keen to join us, which is a great aspect, because I want players who want to be here."
