A man suffered serious injuries after being hit by a van a petrol station forecourt.
It happened at the Esso garage on Bridge Lane in Penrith at around 6:30am this morning.
The pedestrian, who is in his 60s, was treated at the scene before being transferred to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary.
The 66-year-old driver of the van escaped injury and the forecourt remains closed while police carry out investigations.
Any witnesses are being urged to contact Cumbria Police.
