A 13-year-old girl has died after a crash that happened yesterday afternoon, near Carlisle.
The collision occurred at 2:20pm on Monday, between Stoneraise and Ivegill at the Crown Inn crossroads.
It involved three vehicles - a Landrover, a car and a van.
The young girl who died was travelling in the backseat of the car.
The female driver of the same vehicle was airlifted to the RVI in Newcastle with potentially critical injuries and another 14-year-old girl was also injured.
A 45-year-old man from west Cumbria, who was driving the Landrover defender, suffered minor injuries, and the driver of the red Mercedes van was not hurt.
Police are asking for witnesses of the crash to contact 101.
