Police clampdown on drivers breaking the law

Police in Scotland are urging motorists to drive safely.

Figures released by a UK Government report of road surveillance show that Scottish drivers are more likely to offend than anywhere else in Britain.

Police Scotland vow to catch people breaking basic driving laws.

This includes clamping down on motorists driving over the speed limit, using their phones behind the wheel and not wearing seatbelts.
