Disruption is expected on one of the busiest roads in the Lake District as Cumbria County Council start work on what they have called 'essential resurfacing.'
The A591 near Bannerigg Farm, south of Windermere will have temporary traffic lights in place for five days.
The council also plan to carry out work, costing approximately £350,000, in other areas of the county including:
- Improvements to the road surface on A591 Market Place in Ambleside from the evening of Tuesday 7 May for seven weekday nights.
- Work on the A6 Sandes Avenue in Kendal, from Thursday May 16 for approximately two weeks.
The road works will take place on the evenings to minimise delays to travellers.
Cumbria County Council ask anyone with concerns about the on-going improvements to contact the Highways team on 0300 303 2992.
