Woman, 36, dies following crash in Scottish Borders

A 36-year-old woman has died after a collision on the A72 in the Scottish Borders, police have confirmed.

Donna Cameron, from Innerleithen, was travelling in the front passenger seat when her car collided with a VW Golf on 29 May near Walkerburn.

She died on June 4 in the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh.

In a statement released through Police Scotland her family said:

Donna was a much loved family orientated person who will missed very much by her family and friends.

The family would like to publicly thank all the medical staff at the three Edinburgh Hospitals involved in the care of their family, and all the emergency service personnel who worked hard to try and save Donna and her family at the scene of the crash."

The driver of the Fiesta, a 60-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with serious, but not life threatening injuries.

A 15-year-old girl was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

A 10-year-old girl was taken to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

The driver of the VW Golf, a 26-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries.

Police ask witnesses to come forward with information.
