Cricket legend Ben Stokes will return to Cumbria this weekend, fresh from his man of the match performance in the World Cup.

The 28-year-old was born in Christchurch, New Zealand, but moved to Cockermouth at a young age where he played cricket for the local club.

Stokes was the home side's hero of the hour who paved the way for a Super Over, a six-ball shoot-out that had only occurred 11 times in international history and never before at the World Cup.

The all-rounder will return home on Saturday to watch Cockermouth Cricket Club in action against Furness at Sandair.
