Whitehaven in line for triple success at Rugby League awards

Whitehaven's title-winning season has seen the club nominated in three main categories at the Rugby Football League Awards.

Gary Charlton is in the running for League 1 coach of the year, skipper Marc Shackley and Papua New Guinea half-back Dion Aiye could be crowned player of the year and winger Andrew Bulman is one of five nominees in the young player of the year category alongside Workington Town loanee Caine Barnes.

The winners will be announced at the Betfred Championship and League 1 Awards Night at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester on Tuesday September 24
