Heavy rain has brought widespread disruption to the region's road and rail network with flood alerts and warnings in place.

Routes affected include the A6 in Carlisle near junction 42 of the M6, the A69 between Warwick Bridge and Brampton and the A595 at Red Dial

On the railways, a landslip at Wetheral has led to the cancellation of all services between Carlisle and Haltwhistle with bus replacements running while the line remains closed.

And the Cumbrian Coast line has also been hit by flooding around the Aspatria area.
