Officers are asking for witnesses to come forward after a woman was hit by a car in Penrith.
Emergency services responded to reports of an incident on 14 October involving a pedestrian and a vehicle, at 11:48am, on Victoria Road.
A 77-year-old woman was taken by air ambulance to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle to be treated for her injuries. She remains in a serious condition.
The car involved was an Alfa Romeo and was driven by a 46-year-old woman from the local area.
The road was closed for a number of hours while a full investigation of the area was carried out.
