Detectives are investigating the serious assault of a 60-year-old man in Dumfries.

Officers are appealing for two taxi drivers who may have witnessed the attack to come forward.

Around 9.10pm on Friday, 8 November, 2019, the victim was confronted by a man on his doorstep in Goldie Avenue, Dumfries, and seriously assaulted.

Two light-coloured taxis were seen driving along Goldie Avenue between the hours of 9pm and 9:10pm. Officers are appealing to the drivers of the vehicles to contact them, as it is possible they may have seen the suspect.

The police continue to review CCTV footage and are appealing for anyone with any information to contact them at Loreburn Police Station via 101.
