Pedestrian dies in crash on A69
A 40-year-old pedestrian died in a fatal crash last night on the A69 in Cumbria. Police are appealing for witnesses.
Officers were called at 10.15pm on Tuesday 7 January to the report of a road traffic collision on the A69 between Corby Hill and Hayton.
The crash involved a black Volkswagen Golf and a pedestrian.
As a result of the collision, the pedestrian, a local man aged in his 40s, died at the scene.
His family have been informed and a Family Liaison Officer has been appointed.
The driver was uninjured.
The road was closed for several hours whilst a forensic collision investigation and recovery was carried out.
